Lumbox Beta-1 is Open for Self-Serve Signup
Today we’re opening Lumbox to everyone.
After months in private beta — over 200 developers, dozens of production workloads, and more GDPR audit requests than we expected — we’re ready to call this Beta-1 and let anyone sign up without waiting for an invite.
Why we built this
Every week, teams building SaaS in Europe face the same moment: a potential customer asks, “Where does our data live?” They open the Vercel or Netlify docs. The answer is a policy PDF and a US legal entity. That answer fails a GDPR audit, a public sector contract requirement, or a fintech DPO review.
The problem isn’t that those platforms are bad. The problem is that US-based infrastructure, regardless of where the servers sit physically, is subject to US law — the CLOUD Act, FISA, executive orders. Physical location and legal jurisdiction are not the same thing.
Lumbox is the answer for teams where legal clarity is not optional: operated by Tatancorp SAS (France), infrastructure on Hetzner (Germany and Finland), no data ever routed outside the EU. A GDPR-compliant Data Processing Agreement is available to all customers — not gated behind an Enterprise plan.
What ships today
Deploy any framework. Node.js, Bun, Python, static sites, and Docker containers are supported out of the box. The lumbox CLI runs Nixpacks autodetection — point it at your repo and it figures out the runtime.
npx lumbox@latest deploy
Preview deployments per branch. Every pull request gets its own live URL under your project’s preview domain. Review in context, share with stakeholders, and merge when it’s right.
Custom domains with automatic TLS. Add two DNS records, and Let’s Encrypt provisioning completes in minutes. No manual cert management. No renewal reminders.
EU-only infrastructure. Every byte of compute, storage, logs, and egress runs on Hetzner infrastructure in Germany and Finland. No US regions, no opt-out required, no asterisks.
Open-source core. The runtime and CLI are on GitHub. Read the code, file issues, self-host, or contribute. We build in public.
